Description

Compact and portable whitening pen makes it effortless to whiten your teeth at home or on the go. The no-mess brush applicator lets you paint the gel directly onto your teeth. Simply twist the bottom of the pen to expose the whitening gel and paint onto each tooth to whiten. Whitener can be used in bleaching trays or retainers, but can also be used with cheek retractors only!Innovative clear tube design allows you to see exactly how much whitening gel is being used and is left in the pen. The whitening gel is thick to prevent leakage and the pen device uses a strong twisting mechanism to push the gel through the brush tip for each use.

Contains 35% Carbamide Peroxide whitening gel to break down and remove stains on the surface of the teeth from coffee, wine, soda, tea, smoking and more! Pen includes 15+ whitening treatments. Gel is made in USA, gluten-free, kosher and safe for enamel.

*If irritation such as redness, swelling or soreness occurs, discontinue use and call us to consult your orthodontist. Avoid swallowing the cosmetic or part thereof. Avoid direct contact of the whitening gel with the gum and/or salivary flow. Avoid contact of the product with the eye

How To Use
  1. Floss and brush teeth.
  2. Remove cap. Twist pen (a few clicks at a time to avoid using too much gel) to dispense gel onto brush.
  3. Bush a thin layer of gel onto the front part of your teeth that are visible when you smile. do not apply gel to gums.
  4. Place whitening trays (or clear retainers or clear aligners) on your teeth over the gel. If you do not have whitening trays, keep your mouth open and lips away from gel using cheek retractors to allow gel to take effect without your saliva rinsing it away.
  5. Leave gel on for 10-30 minutes. Leaving gel on for longer will result in additional whitening, but may also increase sensitivity. Avoid contact of gel with soft tissue (tongue, gums and lips) and spit out any excess.
  6. Remove trays and rinse gel away from your teeth and trays with room temperature water.
  7. Do not drink, smoke or eat for at least 1-2 hours after use for optimal results.

Repeat up to twice a day to achieve desired results.

Sensitivity is common and not abnormal following whitening. Decrease frequency of whitening if you experience sensitivity.

Store whitening pen in cool, dry area with cap on.

5-Star Care

Check out what patients have to say about their 5-star experience with our amazing team. We can’t wait to provide you and your family with the same quality of care!

Orthodontic office interior with multiple treatment stations, dental staff attending to patients, modern decor, and vibrant artwork, emphasizing patient-centered care at Otto Orthodontics.
Stephanie W.
We had a wonderful experience at Otto Orthodontics for my son’s consultation visit. We visited another orthodontist in Wentzville and left feeling unheard and pressured to do two phases for my 10 year old son. The staff at Otto were completely honest and not in it for the money. They encouraged us to wait for the rest of his baby teeth to come in (probably 9 months to a year) rather than spending an extra $3000 on two phases. Ashley talked to us about our options and answered all of my questions. We can’t wait to visit in January to start the next steps. If you’re considering braces for your kiddo, I highly recommend this place.
Response from the owner:Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience, Stephanie! We're thrilled to hear that our team provided honest guidance for your son's orthodontic journey. We look forward to welcoming you both in January!
Janet B.
I had a wire that poked a little bit into my cheek. They were able to get me in and replaced the wire the same day. Kaitlyn was super nice and got me in and out really quick.
Response from the owner:Thank you, Janet! We're thrilled to hear that Kaitlyn provided you with quick and friendly service. Your comfort is our priority, and we're glad we could assist you the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do teeth whitening markers work?
Teeth whitening pens can be effective in removing surface stains from teeth caused by coffee, wine, soda, tea, and smoking. The gel in these pens typically contains carbamide peroxide to break down and remove stains. However, results may vary, and it's essential to follow instructions carefully to avoid sensitivity or irritation.
Do whitening pens permanently whiten teeth?
Whitening pens provide temporary whitening by removing surface stains. For long-term results, consistent use is necessary. However, they do not offer permanent whitening. Professional treatments or other methods may be needed for lasting effects.
Do whitening gel pens have peroxide?
Yes, whitening gel pens typically contain peroxide, such as Carbamide Peroxide, to break down and remove stains on teeth. The gel is designed to be safe for enamel and is often used in at-home teeth whitening products for convenience and portability.
Do whitening pens work on fake teeth?
Whitening pens can be effective on fake teeth, such as dental crowns or veneers, to some extent. However, the results may vary based on the material of the artificial teeth. It's essential to consult with your orthodontist or dentist before using whitening pens on fake teeth to ensure compatibility and prevent damage.
Can whitening markers damage enamel?
Whitening pens containing 35% Carbamide Peroxide gel can break down surface stains but may cause enamel damage if overused. It's crucial to follow instructions, avoid contact with soft tissues, and consult an orthodontist if irritation occurs. Proper storage and limited use can help prevent enamel damage.
Are gel pens effective for stains?
Gel pens containing 35% Carbamide Peroxide whitening gel are effective for removing surface stains from teeth caused by coffee, wine, soda, tea, and smoking. They are portable, easy to use, and safe for enamel. Gel pens can be used with whitening trays, retainers, or cheek retractors for on-the-go whitening.
How often to apply teeth markers?
Apply teeth markers as directed by your orthodontist. Typically, markers are used once a day for a specified duration. Follow instructions carefully to achieve optimal results without causing sensitivity or irritation. If any issues arise, consult your orthodontist promptly.
Are whitening pens suitable for veneers?
Whitening pens are generally not recommended for veneers as the whitening gel may not effectively whiten the material of the veneers. Veneers are made from porcelain or composite resin, which do not respond to whitening agents like natural teeth. It's best to consult with your dentist or orthodontist for safe whitening options for veneers.
Can whitening pens cause tooth sensitivity?
Whitening pens can cause tooth sensitivity, especially if left on for extended periods. The gel's high concentration of carbamide peroxide may lead to sensitivity in some individuals. It's essential to follow instructions carefully, avoid overuse, and consult your orthodontist if irritation occurs.
What ingredients are in gel pens?
Gel pens typically contain a water-based gel ink that consists of pigments, water, and a gelling agent. The pigments provide color, while the gelling agent helps the ink flow smoothly onto the paper. Some gel pens may also contain additional ingredients like preservatives, thickeners, and lubricants to enhance performance and durability.
Do whitening markers affect gum health?
Whitening pens can potentially affect gum health if the whitening gel comes into contact with the gums. It's essential to apply the gel carefully to avoid irritation or damage to the soft tissues. If any redness, swelling, or soreness occurs, discontinue use and consult with your orthodontist for guidance on protecting your gum health while whitening your teeth.
How to store teeth whitening pens?
To store teeth whitening pens, keep them in a cool, dry area with the cap securely on. This helps maintain the effectiveness of the whitening gel. Store them away from heat and direct sunlight to prevent any degradation of the product. Proper storage ensures the whitening pen remains usable for future applications.
Are whitening markers safe for braces?
Whitening pens are generally safe for braces as long as the gel does not come into direct contact with the brackets or wires. It's best to use the pen with caution, avoiding the braces themselves to prevent damage or discoloration. Consult your orthodontist for personalized advice on using whitening pens with braces.
Do pens remove deep teeth stains?
Pens with whitening gel can help remove surface stains on teeth caused by coffee, wine, soda, tea, and smoking. However, for deep teeth stains, professional whitening treatments or procedures may be more effective. It's best to consult with an orthodontist for personalized recommendations on addressing deep teeth stains.
Can I use pens on crowns?
Whitening pens are generally safe to use on natural teeth but may not be as effective on crowns or other dental restorations. It's best to consult with your orthodontist or dentist before using whitening pens on crowns to avoid any potential damage or discoloration to the dental work.
How long do pen effects last?
The effects of a whitening pen can last for several months, but this can vary depending on individual habits like diet, oral hygiene, and lifestyle choices. Regular touch-ups may be needed to maintain the desired level of whitening.
Is it safe to swallow gel?
It is not recommended to swallow the whitening gel. Avoid contact with soft tissues like gums, tongue, and lips. Spit out any excess gel and refrain from eating, drinking, or smoking for 1-2 hours after use for optimal results.
How quickly do whitening pens work?
Whitening pens typically show results within a few uses, with noticeable improvements in teeth color visible after a week or two of consistent application. Results may vary based on individual teeth staining and adherence to usage instructions. Regular use can enhance and maintain the whitening effects over time.
Are there flavors in whitening pens?
Whitening pens typically do not contain flavors. The focus is on the whitening gel's effectiveness rather than taste. The gel is designed to break down and remove stains without the need for added flavors. This ensures the product is safe for enamel and effective in whitening teeth.
Can whitening pens treat all stains?
Whitening pens can effectively treat surface stains from coffee, wine, soda, tea, and smoking. However, they may not be as effective for deep or intrinsic stains. It's best to consult with your orthodontist for guidance on the suitability of whitening pens for your specific staining concerns.
Are whitening gel pens cost-effective?
Whitening gel pens are cost-effective due to their portability, ease of use, and ability to target specific areas. They offer a convenient at-home whitening solution, reducing the need for expensive professional treatments. With proper use, these pens can provide noticeable results at a fraction of the cost of traditional whitening methods.
Do whitening markers have UV light?
Whitening pens do not typically contain UV light. These pens use whitening gel with carbamide peroxide to remove surface stains. The gel is applied directly to the teeth and does not require UV light activation for whitening. UV light is more commonly used in professional whitening treatments at dental offices.
How many shades can pens whiten?
The whitening pens can whiten teeth by several shades, typically ranging from 2 to 8 shades lighter depending on individual factors like initial tooth color and the duration of product use.
Can I use whitening pens daily?
Whitening pens can typically be used daily, but it's essential to follow the instructions provided with the product. Overuse may lead to tooth sensitivity or gum irritation. Consult your orthodontist or dentist for personalized advice on the frequency of whitening pen usage.
Do pens work on all teeth?
Whitening pens can be effective on most teeth, but results may vary based on individual factors like tooth discoloration and enamel health. It's essential to follow instructions carefully and consult with a dental professional for personalized advice on whitening options for specific dental needs.
Can smokers use teeth whitening pens?
Smokers can use teeth whitening pens, but they should be cautious as smoking can lead to tougher stains. Whitening pens with 35% Carbamide Peroxide gel can help remove surface stains from smoking, coffee, wine, and more. However, smokers may need more frequent or longer treatments for optimal results.
Do whitening pens expire?
Whitening pens typically have an expiration date, usually around 1-2 years after purchase. The effectiveness of the whitening gel may diminish over time, so it's best to check the expiration date on the pen before use. Proper storage in a cool, dry place with the cap on can help extend the shelf life of the whitening pen.
Are whitening products safe for teens?
Whitening products can be safe for teens when used as directed. It's essential for teens to follow instructions carefully to avoid any potential issues. Consulting with an orthodontist or dentist before using whitening products is recommended to ensure safety and effectiveness for teenage patients.
Can I brush after using pens?
It is recommended not to brush immediately after using whitening pens to allow the whitening gel to work effectively. Wait at least 1-2 hours before brushing to maximize results. Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking during this time for optimal whitening outcomes.
Do whitening pens affect dental restorations?
Whitening pens can affect dental restorations by potentially causing discoloration or uneven whitening results on areas with fillings, crowns, or veneers. It's essential to consult with your orthodontist or dentist before using whitening pens if you have dental restorations to ensure the best outcome and avoid any adverse effects.

The gel is applied directly to the teeth and does not require UV light activation for whitening. UV light is more commonly used in professional whitening treatments at dental offices.

The whitening pens can whiten teeth by several shades, typically ranging from 2 to 8 shades lighter depending on individual factors like initial tooth color and the duration of product use.
